Jamie Leigh Jones Daigle still has not had her rape case heard by a jury because former employer KBR/Halliburton wants the issue to be decided by arbitration. Sen. Al Franken's amendment to next year's defense bill does away with arbitration for violent assault cases.

 The banking the business community are expected to pounce on the new Obama plan to create an agency overseeing financial products such as credit cards and mortgages. More information would have to be disclosed to consumers and interest rates could be capped, hurting the banks' bottom line. No more government is needed say critics.

The Fairness in Nursing Home Arbitration Act hopes to restore some dignity to the elderly who find themselves injured by a home, yet unable to have their day in court because of language agreed to in the small print of a nursing home contract.
