Splenda, the artificial sweetener, is the subject of a study out of Duke University. It finds Splenda  cut in half in rats the amount of good bacteria in the gut, and also may lead to weight gain and hurt the absorption of prescription drugs.    Critics say the study was funded by a sugar lobby, which hates artificial sweeteners.
