Hybrids are popular, but blind pedestrians have trouble hearing them.  Emergency response teams are receiving extra training on how to disable the car's electrical system so they don't receive a 600-volt jolt when they rescue you following an accident.

Today President Bush signed into law the Cameron Gulbransen Kids Transportation Safety Act. It is aimed at regulating power window safety, rearward visibility and rollaway cars prevention that killed 230 kids in 2007. As cars get bigger, safety has not always been a priority in the U.S. as it has in the European Union.
