A Danish study finds that there is no increase in brain tumors during a time when mobile phone use escalated. But the author cautions that tumors may take a longer time to develop. Meanwhile consumers can take certain precautions, just in case.

The National Safety Council is advocating a total ban on cell phone use while driving, saying it is dangerous and leads to fatalities. A study by the Harvard Center for Risk Analysis estimates cell phone use while driving accounts for 6 percent or 636,000 of all automobile crashes, 330,000 injuries and 2,600 deaths in the U.S. every year.

The digital age of teenage flirting is called “sexting” (instead of “texting”) and it involves sending nude or semi-nude photos from cell phone to cell phone. The troubling combination of teenagers acting impulsively and provocatively is not new, but the accessibility to technology is.

In a federal lawsuit filed on December 1, Public Citizen claims that records showing the connection of driver cell phone use and traffic fatalities are being withheld from the public by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Leaving a cell phone on talk mode changed sperm in this latest study from the Cleveland Clinic. To be extra careful, if you plan on fathering children, might not want leave a cell phone in the talk mode in your pants pocket.

Danish scientists have noticed more behavioral problems among children whose mothers used cell phones during pregnancy.  Despite the controversy on how much - scientists agree that cell phones emit radiation. To err on the side of caution, there are some simple ways you can reduce your exposure, including something called a ferrite bead.

A recent insurance industry study shows teens are not heeding laws banning the use of cell phones while driving. The study concludes that parents should take a more active role in helping to curb this unsettling trend, as auto accidents are the leading cause of death for teenagers.
