CDC scientists have found a chemical called perchlorate in samples of powdered infant formula. High levels of exposure to perchlorate may disrupt the function of the thyroid gland, which is needed for normal growth and development of the central nervous system.

A collision with a big truck nearly killed this nine-year-old boy. His head was essentially severed from his neck with connective tissues destroyed. Jordan Taylor not only survived but is walking and talking and returning to school in January.  Doctors call this a miracle.

Friday is the deadline for public swimming pools and hot tubs to close if they do not meet new federal guidelines. Last year, Congress passed a law requiring new hump-shaped drain covers be installed to prevent young children from being sucked to the bottom of the pool. Drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death for children under the age of 14.

It's been 27 years, but Hollywood police have finally ended the cold case of Adam Walsh.  Ottis Toole, the drifter from Florida, has officially been named as the person who killed Adam in 1981. He's been a suspect all along and John Walsh says he knew Toole was the killer, but the case was botched and left unresolved for the Walsh family- until today.

People are injured on metro Atlanta escalators several times a week. While only a handful of cases involve disfiguring entrapments, several escalator riders suffer serious injuries when their luggage or clothing becomes entangled or they fall on the machinery.
