Two U.S. senators have filed new legislation aimed at initiating a recall and imposing an immediate ban on importing “tainted building products from China." The tainted Chinese-made drywall has been creating problems in homes from Florida to Louisiana.

Just how many homes are built with foul-smelling wallboard from China? Many residents of coastal Florida have been reporting problems and now reports come from the inland Florida town of Sebring.

Lennar, a Miami-based homebuilder since 1954, is suing manufacturers, suppliers, and installers who contributed to the construction of homes with the sulfur-smelling wallboard from China that’s forcing residents from their homes. Two other class-actions have been filed by Florida homeowners.
