Oprah and Dr. Oz have filed more than 40 complaints against marketers of the acai berry to stop them from using the famous duo for promotional purposes. They say there is no science that supports the claim the berry promotes weight loss.

The FDA is expanding its warning about tainted weight loss products that contain undeclared, active pharmaceutical ingredients. In other words, the ingredients are not mentioned on the label and pose serious health risks including, heart attack, stroke and seizures.

The FDA is issuing a warning about diet pills, especially those with "natural"  or "herbal" ingredients. Many contain potentially dangerous ingredients that are not FDA approved and slipped in under, "supplements" which are not regulated.

In surprising results out of University of Oxford, researchers found elderly, at the low end of normal in vitamin B12, showed the greatest amount of brain shrinkage over a five year period. Meats, salmon and mollusks contain the most B12. Estimates are nearly half of us are deficient.
