Flame retardants, found in the blood of pregnant women are correlated with lower levels of thyroid stimulating hormone. The malfunction is linked to miscarriage, premature birth and intrauterine growth retardation.

All sunscreens are not created equal and the Environmental Working Group, a reliable nonprofit, sorts it all out. Surprisingly, three out of five brand-name sunscreens don't make the grade - either they don't protect the skin or contain chemicals you don't want.

Six baby bottle manufacturers will voluntarily agree to take BPA out of their bottles. The plastic component, know to disrupt the endocrine system in children, has been under increasing pressure from lawsuits, consumers and three state Attorneys General.

Actor Jeremy Piven drops out of a Broadway play with symptoms of mercury toxicity. He reportedly ate sushi twice a day for health.  While the NIH is conducting studies to see if chelation will remove heavy metals from an overloaded body, the FDA is considering softening recommendations on fish consumption, something an environmental consumer group is calling the wrong direction.
