This new CDC study finds that between 1997 and 2007 incidents of allergic reactions to foods shot up 18 percent and parents of almost four percent reported a food or digestive allergy in their child. No one really knows why and until two years ago, the CDC was not even tracking.

The language "good manufacturing practices" were "used to segregate" any potential allergens, can be found on the labels of many products at Whole Foods Market. Only the claim is untrue finds an investigation by the Chicago Tribune.

Pregnant women with a family history of asthma or food allergies who consume nuts or nut products - like peanut butter - daily raise the risk their children will develop asthma by 50 percent, according to a new study by Utrecht University.
