A dry cat food with insufficient amounts of thiamine has sickened 21 cats in the South and East, the company Diamond Pet Foods announced today following a September recall of its product.

An error in production led to a recall of NUTRO dry cat food, and now an independent lab has confirmed "sky high" levels of zinc, a mineral, in one bag tested.  Animal lovers report their pets are sick or have expired.

The nation’s salmonella scare is changing focus from peanut butter to peanut paste found in a variety of products from dog biscuits to energy bars. Consumers are advised to avoid these products and return them to the store for a full refund. Do not consume them or give them to your pet. Peanut butter in jars is okay except Parnell's Pride and King Nut.

Just in time for the holidays- Hot Chocolate that should not be consumed. Be sure to read whether your brand is on the recall list because of the industrial chemical, melamine.

Return frozen packages of Lean Cuisine to the grocery store if you have any doubt whether it is included in a recall after plastic was found in seven dinners. The USDA is overseeing the Nestle product recall of 900,000 pounds.

Eight new cases of salmonella infection have been linked to dry pet food, according to US health officials. Salmonella Schwarzengrund, a specific strain of salmonella, has been linked to 79 cases of infection reported in 21 states.

The milk contamination scandal in China has now been found in Cadbury Chocolates made in Beijing. US candy makers say they don't use milk products from China for US distribution, but they are recalling candies off the shelves in Asia.

In China, a leading baby formula is found to be tainted with melamine, the same byproduct of plastic production that contaminated pet food in this country.  China does not send formula or raw ingredients into U.S. made brands, but some still find their way to the U.S. market.

Twelve deaths have been attributed to a deadly bacterial outbreak linked to tainted meat in Canada, according to Canadian Health Officials. There are 30 more cases of suspected listeriosis and more are expected in the coming days.

Whole Foods Market issued a voluntarily recall of 1.2 million pounds of fresh ground beef in 21 states due to possible E. Coli contamination. Seven customers in Massachusetts have been reported ill from a strain of E. Coli and people in 11 other states and Canada.

Tyson Foods announced a recall of over 50,000 pounds of raw frozen chicken breast tenderloin products produced between July 23 and August 1 due to a soy-based allergen not declared on the product label.

Over-sulfated chondroitin sulfate mimics the action of blood-thinner heparin and has been identified as the contaminant found in a large percentages of recalled vials. Whether it caused the 19 deaths and hundred of allergic reactions remains a mystery.
