Inducing labor before 39 weeks of pregnancy should be discouraged unless there is a medical necessity, says the largest association of gynecologists and obstetricians, which issued new guidelines for delivery today.  As many as half of labors are induced at some hospitals.

The Children's Hearing Institute reports hearing loss among children and young adults is rising in the United States and one-third of the damage is caused by noise. An estimated one child in every eight has noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL), according to the American Academy of Audiology.
