Tobacco Giant R.J. Reynolds is taking heat for producing Camel Orbs, a cinnamon and mint flavored Tic Tac-type candy intended for adults to cut the craving for nicotine in smoke-free situations. Unfortunately, children are ingesting them too, and young people can purchase the little candies at convenience stores.

He may jog and play basketball but President-elect Obama has not only the nation's health care to fix but his own personal health challenge. Like one in five Americans, he smokes cigarettes and quitting has proven elusive over the years.

A nicotine-based pesticide, neonicotinoid, may explain the collapse of bee colonies. The insecticides, made by Bayer and Syngenta, move through a plant’s vascular system.  Bees pick up the pollen from the plants, which may impact their immune system and behavior.  Billions in agriculture, such as fruits and nuts, are at stake.

Expect to see a more aggressive anti-smoking campaign if the FDA regulates the tobacco industry. That came one step closer Wednesday when the House passed the measure. The White House promises a veto. You'll never guess which side of the issue Philip Morris is on.

NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Bill and Melinda Gates are joining forces and $500 million to launch a global anti-smoking campaign in low and middle income emerging countries which have never seen anti-smoking campaigns. Among their challenger are governments that derive income from a tobacco sales tax.

A new report on smoking shows that to heal completely and reduce your risk of lung cancer, it takes 30 years after one quits. Meanwhile American tobacco companies export cigarettes to Third World countries, which are expected to see millions die from smoking-related diseases.
