Talc contains tiny fibers similar to those found in asbestos that can travel from the genital area to the ovaries causing cancer. A risk of ovarian cancer is increased with hormone therapy, this published study finds.  The results echo the Women's Health Initiative study from 2002 that had to be haulted because researchers found an increase in many cancers among women taking hormone therapy.
