The National Institute on Aging is researching ways to slow the aging process. In one experiment, lab mice given the antibiotic, rapamycin, were found to have their life extended, for females by 14 percent, even though the drug was given later in life, at the equivalent of age 60 in humans.

David Sinclair is a Harvard researcher who works in the area of anti-aging.  He resigned from his advisory position with the Shaklee company after the WSJ began uncovering his financial arrangement over the supplement, Vivix, reportedly, "The world’s best anti-aging supplement.”

A new study published in the journal Cell Metabolism finds an experimental drug, by GlaxoSmithKline, that imitates a health-boosting compound found in red wine may offer promise in the fight against diabetes and obesity, according to researchers.

Resveratrol, in red wine and the skin of peanuts and walnuts, is getting a good review - again. It's been shown to have a very strong positive effect on preventing cardiovascular disease, reducing heart inflammation, keeping bone health in terms of structure and function, and maintaining loco-motor and balance activity. Now the question is - does this effect translate to humans?

Karolinska Institute in Sweden found that people who drink up to five glasses of wine a week have the risk of rheumatoid arthritis reduced by up to 50 percent, compared to those who drink very little.
